Javier Smith

Javier’s work at the Center primarily focuses on the Michigan in Mexico Initiative. Javier is a great asset to the Center due to his experience and expertise. He has been involved in international trade for the majority of his career. Early on, he was the founder of his own trading companies. Thereafter, he went on to work for international nonprofit organizations and government institutions focusing on international trade. During Javier’s span of time in the trade business, he has come across issues in retail marketing, wholesale, e-commerce, manufacturing and software development, warehousing, transportation, and general logistics.

Javier goes the extra mile for his clients and the community. Throughout his career, he has established connections with chambers of commerce, agencies, universities, small businesses, and NGOs. In addition, he is involved in various organizations, including the Mexican Entrepreneurship Association (AEM).
